What type of extra gear should my family bring?
In addition to the supplies that are on the general “Stuff to Bring” list, here are some extra items that families should consider bringing along to help make their Intention as awesome as possible! Please make sure you label all your belongings, so that your items are not part of the lost & found at the end!
- Sleds!!!! (great for hauling wood, children, supplies, flying down hills, etc.)
- Full Outdoor gear for your kids (snow pants, toque, mittens, scarf, extra socks, etc.)
- Slippers for in the Main hall and Activity Centre (to keep toes toasty – non-slip!)
- Costumes to wear (and to share for the “We Are All Onesie” Dance Party)
- Extra snacks your kids like (especially if they are grazers and/or picky)
- Slings, carriers, ergos, etc.
- A favourite toy or other comfort objects from home (clearly labelled!)
- Craft supplies and decorations (to make your cabin feel like home)
- A baby monitor (in case you want to sneak away to pee!)
- And of course the awareness that Intention can be overstimulating for children especially on the first day, so there is a need to be extra attuned to your child’s needs. One strategy for helping prevent overstimulation can be remembering to take periodic breaks from the main areas from time to time to calm their energies.
